S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 The Federation of Muslim Associations in Brazil (Fambras<\/a>) will host two charitable actions on Sunday (04). One will be Islam Solid\u00e1rio (Solidarity Islam), which will assist children and adults. The other is \u201c\u00c1gua, Sa\u00fade & Vida\u201d (Water, Health and Life<\/em>), which will install two water purifiers and a water treatment station in the indigenous territory Tendon\u00e9 Por\u00e3. Both initiatives will take place in Parelheiros, in the far south zone of S\u00e3o Paulo.<\/p>\n

Delegates from the United Arab Emirates\u2019 Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives Foundation, which supports the event, will follow the activities this weekend.<\/p>\n

Islam Solid\u00e1rio will take place at CEU Parelheiros and is expected to assist approximately 50,000 people. Last edition at the place, 20,000 residents were assisted. The organization will offer hypertension, cholesterol, diabetes and hepatitis C exams, as well as nutritional and dental check-ups, haircuts, skin cleansing, and quick massage.<\/p>\n

Early on, the event will distribute 500 numbers for the eye exams and glass donations. This is the second time Islam Solid\u00e1rio will take place there, and now it will also offer access to DNA exams as well as the issuance of birth, marriage and death certificate duplicates, made in partnership with the state government. Numbers will also be distributed for these services.<\/p>\n

The event will distribute 3,000 toys and hold activities for children with inflatable toys, balloon animals, face painting, popcorn, cotton candy, and comic books. A graffiti workshop and a capoeira presentation are also part of the program.<\/p>\n

Water, Health & Life<\/strong><\/p>\n

The \u201c\u00c1gua, Sa\u00fade & Vida\u201d (Water, Health & Life) will take place at the indigenous territory Tenond\u00e9 Por\u00e3, where seven Indian settlements are located around an area of 15,969 hectares. Approximately 500 guarani indigenous families live there. Islam Solid\u00e1rio will also host activities there, but the focus will be the installation of two water purifiers and a water treatment station.<\/p>\n

The water purifiers will be installed in the region close to the basic healthcare unit that cares for the community to make visits easier. Fambras has already installed its first water treatment station<\/a> in Parelheiros in December 2018. The equipment relies on ultraviolet (UV) rays to purify river water and is solar-powered. The water treatment station will first serve the Indian settlement school, where 350 students attend. It has an efficiency of over 95% and is self-sufficient and solar-powered.<\/p>\n
