Pictured above, a still from the movie showing Carol Duarte, who plays Eur\u00eddice Gusm\u00e3o.<\/p>\n<p>The motion picture was entered under Best Foreign Language Film. A\u00efnouz was the first Brazilian-born director to win the top prize in the <em>Un Certain Regard<\/em> section of the Cannes Film Festival in May 2019. A\u00efnouz gave an <a href=\"https:\/\/anba.com.br\/en\/after-cannes-karim-ainouz-works-on-documentary-on-algeria\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">entrevista exclusiva \u00e0 ANBA<\/a>\u00a0on the occasion. His Oscar-nominated movie is based on the eponymous book by Martha Batalha.<\/p>\n<p><em>The Invisible Life of Eur\u00eddice Gusm\u00e3o<\/em> will premiere September 19 in Northeast Brazil, and October 31 elsewhere in the country.
