S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 The 7th<\/sup> Brazil-Africa Forum will be themed Food Security: Path to Economic Growth<\/em><\/a>. Organized by the Brazil Africa Institute (Ibraf<\/a>) , the event will take place November 12 and 13 at the Sheraton WTC, in S\u00e3o Paulo, and the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce<\/strong><\/a> will participate for the first time. Arab Chamber secretary-general Tamer Mansour will sit in the panel Nurturing a Productive Agriculture International Trade Landscape<\/em>, at 10:45am on the 13th<\/sup>, alongside Benedict Oramah, president, Afreximbank; Albert Muchanga, commissioner for Trade and Industry, African Union Commission; Kenneth N\u00f3brega, secretary of Bilateral Negotiations in the Middle East, Europe and Africa, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Brazil; Arancha Gonz\u00e1lez, executive director, International Trade Center (to be confirmed); Omar Ben Yedder, group publisher & managing director, IC Publications; and Luana Ozemela, founder & CEO, Development Impact Managers and Advisors (DIMA).<\/p>\n

Topics in discussion will include Challenges and opportunities for deeper trade and investment relations on both sides of the Atlantic<\/em>; Increasing the flow of agritech, agrimanufacture and agriservices<\/em>; and Mastering long-term economic relations and the role of the private sector and civil society<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Arab Chamber\u2019s participation in the Brazil-Africa Forum will be crucial. The event will be the occasion for us to show Brazilian and African business leaders the numerous cooperation opportunities available in the continent, especially between Brazil and the Arab African countries. Arab Africans will soon play a key role in spreading Brazil\u2019s agriculture and livestock farming technologies, which are indisputably the most efficient in the world,\u201d said Mansour.<\/p>\n

According to Ibraf figures, exports from Brazil to African countries climbed 131% between 2004 and 2014, driven by sugar, beef, poultry and cereals. According to the institute, agricultural trade between the regions has the potential to create valuable opportunities in other economic sectors, and support growth in the countries involved. The panel will cover ways of shaping an attractive trade and investment scenario, allowing companies to fully explore these complementarities.<\/p>\n

Besides Tamer Mansour, three Arab delegates have been confirmed for the Forum: Ayman Amin Sejiny, CEO, Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector (ICD); Ibrahim Assane Mayaki, CEO, New Partnership for Africa\u2019s Development (NEPAD); and Omar Ben Yedder (mentioned above).<\/p>\n

The 2019 Brazil-Afrrica Forum will also feature Brazil\u2019s vice president Hamilton Mour\u00e3o, Ghana\u2019s vice president Mahamudu Bawumia, and other authorities. Debates and presentations will delve into solutions involving issues such as agriculture 4.0, innovative agroenergy models in food production and processing, and the democratization of agribusiness.<\/p>\n
