The show opened last Monday (23), featuring works ranging from Realism to Expressionism. Together, the pieces reflect the exuberance of Brazil and its people.

The pictures are by Bia Ferrari, Anne Wegge, Claudia Costa, Marina Maia, Yara Mattos, Yara Rangel, Hermano Ferro, Julio Cets, Paula Paes Leme, Carla Cavendish, Edith Rocha and Cristina Pires Furtado. Bia Ferrari’s soft-colored work depicts imperial-era Brazil, its architecture, its people and natural diversity. Anne Wee’s dynamic, vibrant art is rooted in Realism, and Yara Mattos’ work is replete with family memories and the love of nature.

Marina Maia makes a point of exalting the action of time on objects, evincing a passion for the past. Hermano Ferro relies on acrylic paint and collages, Júlio Cets creates loose, abstract pictures in lively colors, and Cristina Pires Furtado draws on the colors of nature, and occasionally on a Cubist influence. The approaches are various.

(story continues after photo gallery)

Exhibit features work by 12 artists

The art show opened on the 23rd

Artworks are on show at The Cube

    Ambassador spoke with the press

“Most of the artworks convey the colors of Brazil.
