Year-to-date through September, production climbed 7.5% to 836,450 motorcycles, the Brazilian Motorcycle, Moped and Bicycle Manufacturers Association (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.abraciclo.com.br\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Abraciclo<\/a>) reported this Wednesday (9).<\/p>\n<p>Abraciclo chairman Marcos Fermanian said credit availability was the primary driver behind the increase. \u201cWhat we\u2019re seeing is the motorcycle being used as an alternative for flexible, affordable, efficient mobility in Brazilian cities, not to mention that it enables its owner to earn an income,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Fermanian expects the market to keep going strong over the next few months as workers get their 13th wage payments and summer comes. New models will also come out during industry show <em>Sal\u00e3o Duas Rodas<\/em> due November in S\u00e3o Paulo.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Sal\u00e3o<\/em> is the premier event for the two-wheel industry. It gets over 200,000 visitors who are always waiting for the new stuff. They want to try out and buy a new bike,\u201d said Fermanian.<\/p>\n<p>Abraciclo expects 1.1 million motorcycles to be made in Brazil this year.
