S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 The Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce<\/strong><\/a> is accepting registrations from its Brazilian member companies in the food and beverage industry to join its stand at the 25th<\/sup> Gulfood<\/a>.\u00a0The biggest food and beverage show in the Middle East will run from February 16 to 20 at the Dubai World Trade Centre in Dubai, UAE. Slots are limited. Registrations are available with the Chamber\u2019s Commercial Department (see info below), and applicants will be accepted up until the first fortnight of January.<\/p>\n

Chamber president Rubens Hannun said the organization will play an even bigger role in connecting Brazilians and Arabs in the upcoming Gulfood. \u201cNow that we have Arab members, we\u2019ll play the double role of being a source of support, services and knowledge-sharing for Arabs and Brazilians alike, providing information and access to businesses,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n

The Arab Chamber pavilion will be in a prime spot, near the meats pavilion (pictured is the stand at Gulfood 2019<\/em>). Apart from space at the stand, visuals for each brand and receptionists, participating companies will get Arab Chamber support in business relationships, English translation, industry-specific studies and preparatory materials for negotiating with Arabs, among other services.<\/p>\n

According to Hannun, the Arab Chamber\u2019s participation in Gulfood will involve more than just the stand. \u201cThe Chamber always does work in the sidelines. The schedule for next year is yet to be defined, but it should include seminars, B2B meetings, and hands-on information on food security,\u201d he revealed.<\/p>\n

Moreover, the Chamber launched its international office last February, at Dubai\u2019s Jumeirah Lakes Towers. \u201cThrough our office we can provide comprehensive support to Brazilian and Arab companies, and they can even use the facilities for meetings,\u201d said Hannun.<\/p>\n

The February edition of Gulfood<\/a>\u00a0was considered its biggest ever, with over 100,000 visitors from 200-plus countries. Besides the Arab Chamber, which brought along five companies, another 79 Brazilian enterprises joined the Brazil Pavilion organized by the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil). Arab Chamber pavilion exhibitors included sweets company Florestal, meat company Dom Glut\u00e3o, animal food company Nutrire, commodity export-import company RCMA Group, and food logistics and transportation company O Primo Log\u00edstica. Brazilian companies reached deals worth a combined USD 1.451 billion during the event.<\/p>\n

Gulfood is the leading food industry show for the Middle East and North Africa markets. Year-to-date through September 2019, the 22 Arab countries purchased USD 6.12 billion worth of food, drinks and commodities from Brazil. The top-selling items to Arab countries are poultry, sugar, maize, beef, soy and coffee.<\/p>\n
