S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 Municipal export and investment promotion agency S\u00e3o Paulo Neg\u00f3cios is hosting an international market-driven event on Monday (21), featuring onsite group mentorship for companies looking to export. The 2nd<\/sup> SP International Business Day will also include meetings for businesspeople with delegates from chambers of commerce and consulates, among them the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Registration will be available through Monday, 6am for the lectures program, which includes mentoring. All slots are taken for one-on-one meetings with consulates and chambers of commerce. The event opens with accreditation at 8am and will continue until 5pm at Pal\u00e1cio do Com\u00e9rcio, in the Largo S\u00e3o Francisco Campus of Funda\u00e7\u00e3o Escola de Com\u00e9rcio \u00c1lvares Penteado (Fecap), in S\u00e3o Paulo.<\/p>\n

Speakers for the event\u2019s opening will include Fecap dean Edson Simoni, Banco do Brasil international superintendent Paulo Eduardo da Silva Guimar\u00e3es, Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil) Quality and Competitiveness manager Ana Cl\u00e1udia Barbosa and SP Neg\u00f3cios president Juan Quir\u00f3s. A master lecture at 9:45am will delve into the case of Spanish ceramics company Roca Cer\u00e2mica, whose entry strategy into Brazil involved the acquisition of established local brands.<\/p>\n

Afterwards, concurrent actions will begin. From 9:45am to 1pm, registered businesspeople will sit down with chamber and consulate executives. Prior scheduling was done based on the countries of interest represented by the organizations. SP Neg\u00f3cios executive director for Business and Exports Silvana Scheffel Gomes (pictured above) said the goal is for companies to get information on the countries and their business environments, to help them prepare their entry strategies.<\/p>\n

From 11am until late afternoon, international success cases will be presented simultaneously, and mentorships will ensue. Exporters will tell their stories to small groups and will be available for Q&As, giving suggestions and tips to international entrepreneurs. It will be a kind of group mentorship, according to Silvana. During the day, participants will join in for training in so-called pitch labs, to learn how to introduce themselves quickly.<\/p>\n

Delegates from companies like Biscoitos Itamaraty, Chemyunion, FAME, Dinda Foods, Arcelor Mittal, Braseco, Duratex etc. will recount their success cases. There\u2019ll be lectures on aspects of foreign trade, followed by mentoring, from institutions including Apex-Brasil, Fecap, Instituto Nacional do Pl\u00e1stico (INP), the Brazilian Micro and Small Business Support Service (Sebrae), Banco do Brasil, and Funda\u00e7\u00e3o Getulio Vargas (FGV).<\/p>\n

In the afternoon, industry associations will discuss their export promotion projects. The program ends with a lecture on international market entry strategies, from Escola Superior de Propaganda e Marketing (ESPM) professor Diego Bonaldo Coelho. For the wrap-up, SP Neg\u00f3cios executive directors Silvana Gomes and Silvana Buzzi will discuss technologies and their impact on international trade.<\/p>\n

The majority of registered companies are affiliated with SP Neg\u00f3cios\/Apex-Brasil program S\u00e3o Paulo Exporta<\/em>, which promotes goods and services exports by S\u00e3o Paulo-based companies in connection with Fecap\u2019s exports program (Programa de Qualifica\u00e7\u00e3o para Exporta\u00e7\u00e3o – Peiex). The 2nd<\/sup> SP International Business Day relies on institutional support from IBREI, Sebrae-SP, Banco do Brasil, the Brazilian Postal Service, and several industry-specific entities and associations. Member companies from participating organizations, including the Arab Chamber, have also enrolled.<\/p>\n
