It\u2019s the highest value for the month since September 2017, when it stood at USD 1.716 billion. In September 2018, spending reached USD 1.189 billion.<\/p>\n<p>According to the head of BC\u2019s Statistics Department, Fernando Rocha, September\u2019s result breaks a series of slides in expenditures during travels seen in the last months. \u201cBut it\u2019s not necessarily a pattern,\u201d he said. Rocha stressed that, year-to-date, this expenditures during travels reached USD 13.444 billion, down from USD 13;875 year-on-year.<\/p>\n<p>And expenditure by foreign travelers in Brazil amounted to USD 391 million, up from USD 375 million year-on-year in September.
