In the accumulated result for the month, exports reached US$ 4.73 billion, or US$ 591.3 million per business day, an increase of 18.4% in the daily average compared with January last year. In comparison with December, however, there was a 16.9% reduction. The data were disclosed today (14th) by the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade.<\/P><br \/> <P>Imports, on the other hand, totalled US$ 2.912 billion last week and US$ 4.335 during the entire month, or US$ 541.9 billion per business day, an expansion of 40.8% in the daily average compared with January 2007, and of 2.3% compared with December.<\/P><br \/> <P>The balance of trade (exports minus imports) stood at US$ 325 million last week and at US$ 395 million during the month, or US$ 49.4 million per business day. There was a 56.8% reduction in the daily average compared with January 2007, and of 72.8% compared with December.
