{"id":261195,"date":"2019-10-31T07:43:16","date_gmt":"2019-10-31T10:43:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/anba.com.br\/?p=261195"},"modified":"2019-11-01T20:09:58","modified_gmt":"2019-11-01T23:09:58","slug":"egyptian-product-showcase-opens-in-sao-paulo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/anba.com.br\/en\/egyptian-product-showcase-opens-in-sao-paulo\/","title":{"rendered":"Egyptian product showcase opens in S\u00e3o Paulo"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 Thirty-three Arab companies are showcasing their products as of this Wednesday morning (30) in the fourth permanent display of Egyptian-made goods in Brazil, at Egypt\u2019s Commercial Office in S\u00e3o Paulo on Paulista Avenue.<\/p>\n<p>Featured items include handicraft, plastic and stationery, fresh fruit and vegetables, including dates, LED lamps, rugs, clothing, herbs and spices, tobacco, shisha essences, cotton, textiles, cotton underwear, pipes and fittings, and medical equipment.<\/p>\n<p>And how does the exhibit work? \u201cWe invite Brazilian enterprises to come over and see the goods. We also invite everyone who comes by for meetings, people from different companies, federations, visiting delegations. We show them the products. Now that Brazil has opened up its market for garlic from Egypt, we hope to export lots of garlic in the next crop,\u201d the consul said while showing the goods to visitors. Another player in the fruit and vegetable industry, Grand Egypt is also keeping tabs on the garlic market. \u201cAnd as soon as the market opens for oranges and grapes, it will also offer these items,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Pharmaplast and Middle East are hospital industry companies. \u201cBoth have been to <a href=\"https:\/\/hospitalmed.com.br\/feira2019\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">HospitalMed<\/a>, an industry show in Recife, for the first time \u2013 we brought five companies,\u201d he said. Brochures from Egyptian travel agencies were also available. According to Elkhatib, 23,000 Brazilians visited Egypt last year. \u201cWe expect to see double that amount this year.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The other permanent exhibits are in <a href=\"https:\/\/anba.com.br\/en\/items-from-egypt-on-permanent-display-in-porto-velho\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Porto Velho<\/a>, the capital on Rond\u00f4nia, since September; Bragan\u00e7a Paulista, S\u00e3o Paulo, since August; and <a href=\"https:\/\/anba.com.br\/en\/exhibit-in-campinas-to-feature-egyptian-items\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Campinas<\/a>, S\u00e3o Paulo, since January.\u00a0Elkhatib, who\u2019s completing his four-year stint in Brazil, is slated to return to Cairo on November 20.
