This is the second increase running, reaching 1.5% in the two months. The numbers are from the Monthly Industrial Survey issued this Tuesday (4) by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE).<\/p>\n<p>Year-on-year, output increased 1.1%. On the other hand, the industry saw a 1.4% decline both year-to-date and in the 12 months through September.<\/p>\n<p>Month-on-month in September, three out of four categories saw increases, durable consumer goods (2.3%), semi- and non-durable consumer goods (0.5%) and intermediate goods, i.e. partly finished goods, used as inputs in the production of other goods (0.2%). But capital goods were down 0.5%.<\/p>\n<p>Eleven out of the 26 activities surveyed saw increased outputs.
