{"id":261890,"date":"2019-11-11T17:03:56","date_gmt":"2019-11-11T20:03:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/anba.com.br\/?p=261890"},"modified":"2019-11-11T18:08:58","modified_gmt":"2019-11-11T21:08:58","slug":"saudi-arabia-accredits-eight-meat-packers-in-brazil","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/anba.com.br\/en\/saudi-arabia-accredits-eight-meat-packers-in-brazil\/","title":{"rendered":"Saudi Arabia accredits eight meat packers in Brazil"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.agricultura.gov.br\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply<\/a> reported this Monday (11) that the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sfda.gov.sa\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">SFDA<\/a>) has issued accreditations enabling eight Brazilian meat packers to ship beef to the Arab country.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Ministry, the newly-accredited companies are Fortefrigo, in Paragominas, Par\u00e1; Better Beef, in Rancharia, S\u00e3o Paulo; Rio Grande Com\u00e9rcio de Carnes Ltda., in Imperatriz, Maranh\u00e3o; Plena Alimentos, in Par\u00e1 de Minas, Minas Gerais; Ind\u00fastria e Com\u00e9rcio de Alimentos Supremo, in Ibirit\u00e9, Minas Gerais; Frigol, in S\u00e3o F\u00e9lix do Xingu, Par\u00e1; Maxi Beef Alimentos do Brasil, in Carlos Chagas, Minas Gerais; and Distriboi \u2013 Ind\u00fastria, Com\u00e9rcio e Transporte de Carne Bovina, in Ji-Paran\u00e1, Rond\u00f4nia.<\/p>\n<p>An official statement from the Ministry quoted Agriculture minister Tereza Cristina as saying this is the result of president <a href=\"https:\/\/anba.com.br\/en\/im-in-love-with-saudi-arabia-says-bolsonaro\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jair Bolsonaro<\/a>\u2019s trip to Saudi Arabia last October, and of <a href=\"https:\/\/anba.com.br\/en\/tereza-cristinas-visit-to-arab-countries-opened-doors\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">her own trip<\/a> there last September.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is part of the whole opening up that the Ministry of Agriculture is doing alongside the federal government,\u201d Cristina said. \u201cThis is great news to start off the week,\u201d she went on.<\/p>\n<p>Brazil\u2019s beef exports to Saudi Arabia fetched USD 112 million year-to-date through October, down 12.7% from a year ago, as per Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce numbers.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Translated by Gabriel Pomerancblum<\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"credits-overlay\" data-target=\".wp-image-261888\">Press Release<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The newly-accredited companies will be allowed to ship beef to the Arab country.
