S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 CIAF Leasing<\/a>, out of Cairo, Egypt, signed a firm order for three E190 aircraft by Brazilian manufacturer Embraer<\/a>. The order is worth USD 161.4 million, and will add to CIAF\u2019s fleet, currently comprising three E170 Embraer jets, two of which are on lease from Jasmin Airways, and one from Air Cairo.<\/p>\n

The announcement came during the Dubai Air Show<\/a>, taking place from Sunday (17) to next Thursday (21) in Dubai, UAE. Embraer is an exhibitor. Delivery is expected in Q4 2020. CIAF is also getting two Embraer E195 jets this month, the Brazilian manufacturer reported.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe three new E190s will be an excellent addition to our growing fleet of Embraer E-Jets. With a fleet of E170s, E190s, and E195s, CIAF will have the flexibility to offer to both our wet and dry lease customers a service that fits their needs exactly,\u201d said CIAF Leasing chairman and CEO Hassan Mohamed.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a pleasure to work with an organization that\u2019s going from strength to strength by exploiting the benefits a family of aircraft can provide,\u201d said Embraer Commercial Aviation\u2019s vice president of sales for Africa and Middle East, Raul Villaron regarding the deal with CIAF Leasing. The Dubai Air Show also saw Embraer announce a deal with Air Peace, the biggest carrier in Nigeria, for three E195-E2, confirming purchase rights from an original contract dating from April 2019, and bringing Air Peace\u2019s firm order to to 13 Embraer E195-E2 units.<\/p>\n

Embraer also announced that its KC-390 will be made available internationally under the name Embraer C-390 Millennium. The aircraft was designed at the request of the Brazilian Air Force, as a replacement for its C-130 fleet.<\/p>\n

The model is known as a multi-mission unit, capable of performing tasks including hauling and dropping cargo and troops, performing search and rescue operations, fighting fires while airborne, and assisting with medical evacuations and humanitarian missions.<\/p>\n

Embraer and Boeing also said their upcoming joint venture to find new markets for the C-390 Millennium will be named Boeing Embraer \u2013 Defense, pending approval from regulators and further negotiations.<\/p>\n

\u201cBoeing Embraer \u2013 Defense will build on our companies\u2019 history of collaboration across commercial and defense aerospace to unlock significant value in the state-of-the-art C-390 Millennium as it enters service and leads the next generation of airlift and air mobility aircraft,\u201d said Marc Allen, Boeing\u2019s president of Embraer Partnership and Group Operations.<\/p>\n

Boeing\u2019s comprou<\/a>\u00a0of Embraer\u2019s commercial aviation division will originate Boeing Brasil, with Boeing holding 80% and Embraer retaining 20%. The deal also pends approval and completion is expected in 2020.<\/p>\n
