The orders were placed during the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dubaiairshow.aero\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Dubai Airshow<\/a>, which ended this Thursday (21) in Dubai. <em>Pictured above are Emirates chairman Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum (R) and Boeing Commercial Airplanes president and CEO Stanley Deal (L) shake hands to seal the order.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The deal with Boeing is worth USD 8.8 billion, and the one with Airbus comes out to USD 16 billion, coming out to a total of USD 24.8 billion.<\/p>\n<p>Delivers from both Boeing and Airbus are expected to come from May 2023 all the way to 2028. The deal with Airbus replaces a <a href=\"https:\/\/anba.com.br\/en\/airbus-to-deliver-the-last-a380-to-emirates-by-2021\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">February 2019<\/a>\u00a0order from Emirates for 30 A350s and 40 A330s.<\/p>\n<p>The carrier said in a press release that the A350 \u201cwill enable Emirates to serve a range of new markets, not only in region but also on long-haul missions of up to 15 hours of flying time from Dubai.
