S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 The Kuwait Cultural Week in S\u00e3o Paulo kicks off next Thursday (5) featuring a photo exhibit, Arabic calligraphy, handicraft, a lecture on the teaching of Arabic, and music performances. The event is held by the Embassy of Kuwait in Bras\u00edlia and the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Kuwait sustains cultural agreements with 73 countries, and the Embassy said most have played host to similar cultural week events \u2013 including Latin America\u2019s Chile and Venezuela. This year, it\u2019s Brazil\u2019s turn.<\/p>\n

Kuwaiti photographer Hamed Al Umeiri, calligrapher Farid Al Ali and a delegate from Kuwait\u2019s heritage and handicraft department, Hussein Abdullah Mohammed, will be at the photo exhibit Villa Lobos Park library each morning throughout the week. The exhibit opens on Friday and runs until Monday, and admission is free. The library is open from 9:30am to 6:30pm. Pictured above is one of Al Umeiri\u2019s featured photos<\/em>.<\/p>\n

On Saturday (7), the library will host a free lecture on the teaching of Arabic language in Brazil, delivered by a delegate from the Paran\u00e1 Islamic Charity Center<\/a>, from 9am until noon.<\/p>\n
