Mariam Al-Aqeel (<em>pictured<\/em>) is the first female in this position ever in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) \u2013 comprising Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, UAE, Oman and Kuwait.<\/p>\n<p>According to regional news outlets, Al-Aqeel holds a degree in accounting from Kuwait University. December 2018 saw her appointed minister of State for Economic Affairs.
