{"id":265105,"date":"2019-12-27T07:00:34","date_gmt":"2019-12-27T10:00:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/anba.com.br\/?p=265105"},"modified":"2019-12-26T18:13:39","modified_gmt":"2019-12-26T21:13:39","slug":"profit-up-25-for-egypt-banks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/anba.com.br\/en\/profit-up-25-for-egypt-banks\/","title":{"rendered":"Profit up 25% for Egypt banks"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 Gross profit was up 25% year-to-date through September for Egyptian banks, local daily <a href=\"http:\/\/english.ahram.org.eg\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>Al Ahram<\/em><\/a> reported quoting Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) numbers.<\/p>\n<p>Total gross profit was EGP 60.7 billion year-to-date through September (USD 3.7 billion at current exchange rate), up from EGP 48.5 billion (USD 3 billion) a year ago.<\/p>\n<p>The CBE said the result was driven by gross revenue, which went from EGP 113.8 billion (USD 7 billion) through September 2018 to EGP 128.4 billion (USD 8 billion) through September 2019.<\/p>\n<p>The CBE also said Egypt\u2019s balance of payments ran a USD 227 billion surplus in Q1 of fiscal year 2019\/2020, down 19.9% from a USD 284.1 billion balance of payments surplus in fiscal year 2018\/2019.
