The runner won the 2014 and 2017 editions and is one of the favorites to reach the podium this year. The traditional 15-km event takes place next Tuesday (31) morning in S\u00e3o Paulo. Admassu is Ethiopian-born, Bahraini-naturalized.<\/p>\n<p>The race organizers announced that around 150 elite athletes will participate, divided into the categories Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze. In addition to Admassu, other prominent foreign runners will participate, including Brigid Kosgei, a Kenyan marathon world record owner; Edwin Rotich, a two-time winner of the St. Silvester (2012 and 2013); Pauline Kamulu, who won a bronze medal in 2019 world half marathon; Sheila Chelangat, who\u2019s won four 10-km events this season; and Titus Ekiru, the 2019 Milan Marathon winner.<\/p>\n<p>Already in Brazil, Admassu talked about his expectations for the event. \u201cI\u2019m ready and I hope it&#8217;ll be enough to have a good performance. I\u2019m fond of this race, which has always welcomed me. I\u2019ve had a great year and want to finish it in the best way possible,\u201d the Silver-classified athlete said during a press conference last 29 in S\u00e3o Paulo.<\/p>\n<p>The program for the 31<sup>st<\/sup> will start at 7:25 am with the Wheelchair category.
