S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 The unit of the Social Service of Commerce (SESC<\/a>) in Ribeir\u00e3o Preto, in the northeastern region of S\u00e3o Paulo, will screen an Egyptian movie later this week. Directed by Mohamed Diab, \u201cClash\u201d was chosen to be the feature film screened on January 7. Pictured above, a reproduction of a scene of the movie.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s set in Cairo in 2013 \u2013 two years after the Arab Spring. The atmosphere of the production is precisely that of the country\u2019s capital city streets during the ousting of president Mohamed Morsi, who had been elected in 2012.<\/p>\n

In the plot, an Egyptian police truck carrying arrested protesters of different political and religious backgrounds weaves through violent manifestations. Inside the vehicle, the characters start arguing, and their dialogues reflect the conflicts seen on the Arab country\u2019s streets.<\/p>\n

SESC will screen the movie at the Galp\u00e3o space with 80 seats. Tickets must be taken within an hour before the event, which starts at 8 pm. The movie was released in 2016. The parental rating is over 14, and the movie is 97 minutes in duration. Watch the trailer below:<\/p>\n
