The decision had been published by the investment website of the <em>Valor Econ\u00f4mico<\/em> newspaper, <a href=\"https:\/\/valorinveste.globo.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Valor Investe<\/em>,<\/a> this Wednesday (8) morning. Widely use for transporting oil, the strait is just past the Gulf of Oman, and is bounded by Iran on one side and Oman and the United Arab Emirates on the other.<\/p>\n<p>Petrobras\u2019 decision comes amid an escalation of tension between the <a href=\"https:\/\/anba.com.br\/en\/bolsonaro-sees-a-tendency-towards-stability-in-fuel-prices\/\">United States and Iran<\/a>. This Wednesday, the company issued an official press release explaining that it routinely evaluates shipping routes in order to avoid stretches that may put their operations at risk.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe company considered the scenario and, together with Brazilian Navy, decided to avoid for now trafficking trough the Strait of Hormuz. This change won\u2019t cause any impact on fuel supplies in Brazil.
