The amount is 50.4% greater than in the same period of 2007. The list of products was topped by fertilisers and intermediate inputs for fertiliser production.<\/P><br \/> <P>The data were supplied by the Brazilian Chemical Industry Association (Abiquim). According to the association, chemicals answered to 20% of total imports in Brazil. The Brazilian balance of trade deficit was greater than US$ 3 billion.&nbsp; <\/P><br \/> <P>On the other hand, exports of chemicals stood at US$ 1.8 billion, 14.9% more than in the same period last year.
