Annual production surpassed the 1-billion mark for the first time.<\/p>\n<p>Natural gas production reached 44.7 billion cubic meters, up 9.46% year on year.<\/p>\n<p>Most of the oil and natural gas came from the pre-salt fields &#8211; ultradeep sea reserves in Brazilian coast. Output reached 633.98 million barrels of oil in the pre-salt, up 21.56% from a year before. The previous record had been beaten in November 2019. Gas volume reached 25.9 billion cubic meters, up 23.27% year on year.<\/p>\n<p>In December 2019, oil output reached 3.106 million barrels per day, a record high, up 15.44% from a year before.
