Last Wednesday (22), they participated in a meeting with the Chamber\u2019s board.<\/p>\n<p>The group was welcomed by Arab Chamber secretary-general Tamer Mansour <em>(L)<\/em> and Relations executive Islam Shaheen <em>(R)<\/em>. In an interview with ANBA, the executives said that they intend to prospect Oman-Brazil reciprocal investment opportunities as well as carrying out joint activities between both chambers.<\/p>\n<p>Brazil\u2019s industries the sultanate is interested in investing in including processing industry, tourism, logistics, food security, energy, agriculture, livestock, and pisciculture. On the other hand, the executives stressed that one appeal for Brazilians to invest in Oman is its strategic location. Other strengths they mentioned are the country\u2019s political stability and port and airport infrastructure. Brazilian mining company <a href=\"https:\/\/anba.com.br\/en\/vale-produced-fewer-ore-pellets-in-oman\/\">Vale<\/a> has a iron ore pelletizing plant, storage facilities and a sea terminal at the Omani port of Sohar.<\/p>\n<p>Al Musalhi also pointed out the country\u2019s new laws to stimulate foreign investment. One allows foreigners to own the entirety of a plot, other addresses privatizations, and the last one public-private partnerships. The executives also mentioned as their country\u2019s appeals the free zones that have had tax exemption for 20 years.<\/p>\n<p>They were invited to participate in 2020 Brazil-Arab Countries Economic Forum the Arab Chamber will hold on the April 14<sup>th<\/sup> in S\u00e3o Paulo. The possibility to create a Brazil-Oman businesspeople council was brought up.<\/p>\n<p>Another topic discussed during the visit was the reactivation of a memorandum signed between Brazilian and Omani Chamber.
