The minister participated last Thursday (23) in a business opportunity seminar on energy and mining between both countries in New Delhi.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBrazil is the world\u2019s top sugarcane ethanol producer. India is the world\u2019s top sugarcane producer and I believe we should and could cooperate in this field,\u201d the minister said in an interview with TV Brasil. \u201cThis cooperation involves developing technology aimed at benefiting all. It\u2019s ethanol, the biofuel, becoming an internationally traded commodity,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>In the past, Brazil had discussed other attempts at making ethanol an internationally traded commodity, particularly with the United States, when Luiz In\u00e1cio Lula da Silva and George W. Bush were presidents.
