{"id":267822,"date":"2020-02-17T12:12:10","date_gmt":"2020-02-17T15:12:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/anba.com.br\/?p=267822"},"modified":"2020-02-17T12:25:01","modified_gmt":"2020-02-17T15:25:01","slug":"brf-sourcing-product-for-saudi-arabia-from-its-other-plants","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/anba.com.br\/en\/brf-sourcing-product-for-saudi-arabia-from-its-other-plants\/","title":{"rendered":"BRF sourcing product for Saudi Arabia from its other plants"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 Brazilian animal protein company BRF said this Monday (17) it will source product from other plants, after the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sfda.gov.sa\/en\/Pages\/default.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">SFDA<\/a>) temporarily suspended export authorizations for two of the company\u2019s plants, including Dois Vizinhos, which exported some 6,000 tonnes of product a month to Saudi Arabia.<\/p>\n<p>The news was <a href=\"https:\/\/anba.com.br\/en\/saudi-arabia-halts-purchases-from-two-brf-plants-in-parana\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">broken by ANBA<\/a> on Sunday (16) quoting an SFDA press release. This Monday, BRF put out a press release of its own, notifying the media and financial markets that it had become aware of the suspension on Sunday. Apart from Dois Vizinhos, the unit in Francisco Beltr\u00e3o also got suspended, but BRF said this facility did not ship product to Saudi Arabia. Both plants are in the state of Paran\u00e1.<\/p>\n<p>The SFDA said the suspension is temporary, and that it has requested further details from Brazilian authorities and other parties regarding investigations lasting from 2014 to 2018 on alleged breaches in BRF\u2019s production of animal feed and premix \u2013 a preparation containing vitamins and amino acids.<\/p>\n<p>The food company said it has cooperated fully and continually with Brazilian and international authorities throughout the probe. \u201cBRF does not tolerate any misconduct when it comes to quality and integrity in its manufacturing process.
