S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 The Brazilian government published an ordinance last Friday (27) restricting the entry by air of all foreigners in Brazil to keep the spread of coronavirus at bay. According to information from the Ministry of Justice, there\u2019ll be no restriction to the air cargo transport. The ordinance is valid for 30 days and was signed by the chief of staff, Braga Neto; the ministry of Justice and Public Safety, Sergio Moro; Infrastructure, Tarc\u00edcio Gomes; and Health, Luiz Henrique Mandetta.<\/p>\n
Earlier last Friday, another ordinance of the Ministry of Justice was published, preventing foreigners on the way to countries with closed borders from landing in Brazil. \u201cAs coronavirus has spread across several other countries, we thought it was best to take this measure,\u201d minister Sergio Moro said about the closing of borders. The ordinance provides for exceptions. It does not include Brazilians or immigrants living in Brazil, foreigners in missions from international bodies or on the way to other countries (with open borders), or close relatives of Brazilians, and others.<\/p>\n
