The move was made public this Tuesday (31) in the Federal Gazette, under a ruling signed by Agriculture minister Tereza Cristina.

The committee comprises officials from the Ministry, the National Supply Company (Conab) and the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (Embrapa). Apart from policymaking, the group will review production, the market, and infrastructure. The ruling provides that work will be done along two lines: short-term oversight and solutions, and medium-to-long-term structural adjustment policies.

Translated by Gabriel Pomerancblum

José Cruz/Agência Brasil

Brazil’s Ministry of Agriculture created a group to oversee and outline strategies to cushion the impact of coronavirus on crops and supply.

[114
10274,14722,26991,14155,10132,14535,10766,10584
0":"post-270607","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-news","8":"tag-agriculture-en","9":"tag-comite-de-crise","10":"tag-coronavirus-en-2","11":"tag-coronavirus-en","12":"tag-food-en","13":"tag-pandemic","14":"tag-supply","15":"tag-tereza-cristina-en
Brazil’s Ministry of Agriculture created a group to oversee and outline strategies to cushion the impact of coronavirus on crops and supply.
["GET
