S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 Emirates SkyCargo, the cargo division of UAE state-run carrier Emirates, is resuming its Dubai-Brazil flights. During the month of May, the carrier will fly weekly to Guarulhos International Airport (GRU). April had seen five special flights to Brazil carry Covid-19 test kits and other medical supplies. Emirates is now back to flying on a regular basis to all six continents, after the novel coronavirus pandemic forced it to keep its planes on the ground.<\/p>\n

Emirates SkyCargo helped move over 130 tons of food from Brazil to the UAE from January to April 2020. Globally speaking, it carried over 375,000 tons of cargo.<\/p>\n

Cargo-only flights to S\u00e3o Paulo will deploy Emirates\u2019 B777-300ER airliners, with some 40 tons\u2019 capacity in each plane\u2019s cargo compartment.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur commitment to Brazil remains strong and we are working hard to ensure that our operations are fully normalized as soon as possible. We will continue to operate passenger freighters in keeping with the demand to mitigate, as much as possible, the debilitating effects of the disruption of markets and transport logistics due to the Covid-19 pandemic,\u201d said Emirates\u2019 Cargo Manager for South America Dener Souza.<\/p>\n

Emirates SkyCargo is also operating special flights to Buenos Aires, Santiago and Quito in May.<\/p>\n
