In the United Arab Emirates, Abu Dhabi state-owned investment company Mubadala\u00a0is making N95 facemasks out of an airplane parts plant.<\/p>\n<p>Mubadala arm Strata Manufacturing is making up to 30 million facemasks a year, in partnership with Honeywell, it said this Tuesday (19). \u201c\u201cWe will be able to deliver critical support to frontline health care workers and members of the wider community,\u201d Mubadala CEO Khaldoon Khalifa Al-Mubarak was quoted as saying.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis new manufacturing capability will help address the critical demand for N95 respirators and bolster the resilience of UAE\u2019s personal protective (PPE) equipment supply chains,\u201d he went on.<\/p>\n<p>The new N95 production line will be the first of its kind in the Gulf, Mubadala said. The UAE are currently importing N95 facemasks. The new facility will supply the local market and might export product as well.<\/p>\n<p>Strata Manufacturing was established 2009 and went into production in 2010, supplying the likes of Boeing and Airbus.
