S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 The Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil) has launched a contest to pick a design for the official uniforms of the staff for Expo 2020 in Dubai. The event has been postponed to October 2021 through to mid-2022. Apex-Brasil is responsible for the Brazilian pavilion.<\/p>\n
The official outfit will be worn by Brazilian pavilion staff throughout the 182-day event. The uniform is expected to convey a \u201csense of Brazilianness\u201d and to be \u201cin tune with the levity and simplicity of the pavilion,\u201d an Apex-Brasil press release read.<\/p>\n
Entries will be accepted from Brazilian enterprises and professionals in the fields of graphic design, fashion, architecture and the like, as well as from organizations representing sectors of the Brazilian economy.<\/p>\n
Submissions will be accepted by 11:59 pm on September 30, 2020. Each submission must comprise 14 sketches in PDF format, and can be entered here<\/a>.<\/p>\n Theme <\/strong><\/p>\n Expo 2020 Dubai will be themed \u201cConnecting Minds, Creating the Future,\u201d with three subthemes \u2013 Mobility, Opportunity, and Sustainability. The themes will determine the layout of the exhibition venue, with one so-called \u2018district\u2019 each. The Brazilian pavilion is under construction in the Sustainability district.<\/p>\n The core theme of Brazil\u2019s pavilion is \u201cTogether for Sustainable Development.\u201d It will also comprise three pillars: \u201cTogether for Nature,\u201d \u201cTogether for the Human Being,\u201d and \u201cTogether for Tomorrow.\u201d Pictured at the top of this page is an artist\u2019s rendering of the pavilion<\/em>.<\/p>\n The themes relate to the three interdependent pillars of sustainable development \u2013 economy, society, and the environment. \u201cThe core message of the Brazil Pavilion at the Expo is about showing the world a country that is open to the world, full of opportunity, modern, productive, environmentally conscious, and sustainable, Apex-Brasil Expo 2020 Project coordinator Raphael Nascimento was quoted as saying.
