{"id":278636,"date":"2020-08-14T16:28:06","date_gmt":"2020-08-14T19:28:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/anba.com.br\/?p=278636"},"modified":"2020-08-14T17:05:51","modified_gmt":"2020-08-14T20:05:51","slug":"brazilian-conductor-launching-campaign-for-lebanese-artists","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/anba.com.br\/en\/brazilian-conductor-launching-campaign-for-lebanese-artists\/","title":{"rendered":"Brazilian conductor launching campaign for Lebanese artists"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 In a bid to help young Lebanese artists through the difficult times in the country, with the Port of Beirut blast on August 4, the coronavirus pandemic, and a political and economic crisis, conductor Jo\u00e3o Carlos Martins (<em>pictured above<\/em>) announced that he will play a concert with the SESI-SP Bachiana Philharmonic Orchestra to raise funds once the pandemic is over and concert halls and auditoriums have reopened.<\/p>\n<p>Martins will upload a video to launch a campaign on Saturday (15) on his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/maestrojoaocarlosmartins\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Instagram<\/a> account. This will also be the first campaign in Brazil specifically designed to help Lebanese artists in the wake of the disaster.<\/p>\n<p>It should be a while before the concert takes place, since all venues are closed to prevent the coronavirus from spreading, and no one knows when this will end.<\/p>\n<p>The maestro says he has no ties whatsoever to the Lebanese community in Brazil. \u201cI respect all communities. I come from a Portuguese family, but this is a cause we all must be involved in,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Maestro Jo\u00e3o Carlos Martins made his first Instagram post almost two years ago, in September 2018.
