S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 Emirates is in the process of resuming its operations in Brazil. Its former two-a-week Dubai-S\u00e3o Paulo route, which it had suspended in March, was reactivated on August 2. As of August 24, that route will increase to three flights per week.<\/p>\n
Emirates also put on hold its Dubai-Rio de Janeiro route last March on account of the pandemic, with no plans in place to resume due to ongoing travel restrictions in many cities around the world, the airline said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are hoping to resume our Rio de Janeiro operations once that is commercially and operationally viable. We will make a formal announcement in case there is any development to that end. We remain committed to serving our customers in Brazil through our other base in S\u00e3o Paulo,\u201d Emirates told ANBA in a written statement.<\/p>\n
Since August 2, the Dubai-S\u00e3o Paulo is being flown by a smaller Boeing 777-300ER than the previous Airbus A-380 aircraft.<\/p>\n
The carrier added that Dubai is open<\/a> to Brazilian travelers, with free visas available on arrival. \u201cDubai has reopened for business and leisure travelers, with new air travel protocols to ensure the health and safety of visitors and communities alike,\u201d it said.<\/p>\n Emirates flies to more than 60 destinations across the Americas, Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia-Pacific via its Dubai connections.<\/p>\n It is taking safety measures<\/a> every step of the way to ensure crew and customer safety on the ground and in the air, including by providing all passengers with kits containing face masks, gloves, hand sanitizer and antibacterial wipes.<\/p>\n Emirates is offering coverage of up to EUR 150,000 on medical expenses, plus EUR 100 a day for 14 days on quarantine costs for passengers diagnosed with Covid-19 during their journeys.
