The volume was the greatest in the history of the port for a first half.<\/p>\n<p> Arrivals at the port totalled 4.6 million tonnes and grew 10.4%. Shipments, in turn, grew 10.5% to 8.7 million tonnes. Bulk liquids shipping operations dropped 3%, whereas those of solids grew 18.4%.<\/p>\n<p> The Rio Grande Port cash cow was shipment of agricultural products in bulk. They totalled 4.9 million tonnes, 22.6% more than in the first six months of last year. The best performance was identified in the shipment of wheat, which grew 335.6%, or 896,000 tonnes.<\/p>\n<p>  Shipments of soy chaff grew 14.4% to 1 million tonnes, soy shipments rose 7.4% to 2.2 million tonnes and soy oil rose 1.3% to 256,000 tonnes. Maize and rice exports through the port dropped, 17.7% and 10,5% respectively, and shipments of agricultural products in bulk grew 31%, to 779,000 tonnes.<\/p>\n<p> The container movement dropped 4.2%. But the vessel movement grew 4.3%, reaching 1,702 units.
