The state-run <em>Syrian Arab News Agency<\/em> (<em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sana.sy\/en\/?p=199773\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">SANA<\/a><\/em>)\u00a0reported that the move was decided upon during a cabinet meeting this week.<\/p>\n<p>Ever since the pandemic broke out in Syria, the Damascus International Airport had been open for repatriation flights only. August had seen the Ministry of Health announce that the government\u2019s coronavirus team decided to allow two such flights a week.<\/p>\n<p>According to<em> SANA<\/em>, incoming passengers were required to check in at the Ebla Hotel to await their PCR test results. There have been 3,691 confirmed cases and 165 deaths from Covid-19, according to the World Health Organization (WHO).<\/p>\n<p>The cabinet meeting earlier this week was chaired by Syria\u2019s prime minister Hussein Arnous. The pandemic\u2019s effects on the economy were also in discussion. <em>SANA<\/em> reported that prices were set for 20 basic items on the basis of true production costs.
