Both ANBA and its podcast are bent on demystifying the Arab world to Brazilians by shedding light on underexplored and largely unknown aspects, like the peculiarities of Arab economies and the opportunities available to Brazilian businesspeople. The primarily business-oriented podcast will also occasionally delve into culture, behavior and diplomacy.<\/p>\n
\u201cAt a time when the world has become so much more digital, ANBA is embracing a new medium in which to discuss the Arab world and bring it closer to Brazilian people. This will enhance the ABCC\u2019s work to connect Arabs and Brazilians, which ANBA is a big part of. The pandemic has caused us to go much more virtual in how we relate to Arab people, and the podcast is a new tool to that end,\u201d ABCC president Rubens Hannun says.<\/p>\n
The podcast will feature interviews with exports in Arab affairs and Brazilian entrepreneurs who do business in Arab countries; latest news; market trends, cultural tips and information, and little-known aspects of the Arab world; and behind-the-scenes stories from ANBA\u2019s news reports.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have had a good run so far when it comes to introducing the Arab world to Brazilians via ANBA\u2019s news reports, and I believe the podcast will enhance that even further. The podcast launch is part of our strategy of tapping into the latest media to enable Arabs and Brazilians to partner up more and more,\u201d says ABCC secretary-general Tamer Mansour. According to him, the podcast should be made available in Arabic by next year.<\/p>\n
ANBA Cast is presented by ANBA\u2019s staff of journalists \u2013 Isaura Daniel, Thais Sousa, and Bruna Garcia. The first episode is themed \u201cThe pandemic in the Gulf,\u201d and it delves into how the region\u2019s countries are experiencing the coronavirus crisis. The second one, \u201cThe forum for Arabs and Brazilians,\u201d focuses on the Economic Forum Brazil & Arab countries, which the ABCC is hosting next week. The third episode, airing next week, will deal with the impact of the pandemic on Brazilian-Arab relations.<\/p>\n

The ANBA website is available in Portuguese, English and Arabic. It was created by the ABCC in 2003 to address an information gap and to help promote mutual Brazilian-Arab awareness.<\/p>\n
ANBA gets roughly 90,000 views a month, in Brazil and the world. Readers have checked in on the website from virtually every Arab country, with the bulk of Arab readership being in Kuwait, Egypt, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, and Lebanon. The agency sustains agreements with ten different news outlets in the Arab countries, and it has won 11 journalism prizes.<\/p>\n
