The certification is supplied by the company WQS. According to it, the number of birds bred in this antibiotic-free system is 20 million a year.<\/p>\n<p>For the audit, the birds are inspected at the hatching, while growing and at slaughter. The food consumed by the animals is also checked so that there isn\u2019t any kind of antibiotic in the farming process. BRF reported that the Sadia Bio line has also recently renewed its international Certified Humane certificate. It assures the use of good animal welfare practices. To get it, the farms need to provide an environment that encourages the birds\u2019 natural behavior.<\/p>\n<p>This is the fourth year running the company and Lucas do Rio Verde farmers get the certificate. \u201cWe keep the commitment that is linked to the sustainable growth of our business and assure the quality of the production chain when it comes to our products,\u201d BRF Sustainability executive manager Mariana Modesto was quoted as saying in a press release.<\/p>\n<p>The Sadia Bio line assures the animal welfare in the farm and enables the traceability of its products. This strategy allows the consumer to know the origin of the poultry they buy.
