The meeting was requested by president Luiz In\u00e1cio Lula da Silva, according to a press statement disclosed by the Brazilian Foreign Office (Itamaraty).<\/p>\n<p> During the meeting, means and forms to strengthen the Brazilian partnership with Haiti should be discussed, including greater involvement with the society.<\/p>\n<p> Brazil has been operating in the Caribbean country since 2004, leading the United Nations Mission for Stabilization of Haiti (Minustah).
