The National Civil Aviation Agency (Anac) auctioned the airports in three different blocks: North, South, and Central. The Ministry of Infrastructure expects the airports, which welcome some 24 million passengers a year, to get BRL 6.1 billion (USD 1 billion) in investment.<\/p>\n<p>Companhia de Participa\u00e7\u00f5es em Concess\u00f5es, an arm of the CCR conglomerate, got the South block with a BRL 2.1 billion (USD 374 million) bid, and the Central block for BRL 754 million (USD 134 million). Vinci Airports got the North block with a BRL 420 million (USD 75 million) bid. Investment is expected to amount to BRL 2.85 billion (USD 508 million) in the South block, BRL 1.8 billion (USD 321 million) in the Central block, and BRL 1.4 billion (USD 250 million) in the North block.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The blocks <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The North block includes the airports of Manaus (AM), Porto Velho (RO), Rio Branco (AC), Cruzeiro do Sul (AC), Tabatinga (AM), Tef\u00e9 (AM), and Boa Vista (RR).\u00a0 The South block includes the airports of Curitiba (PR), Foz do Igua\u00e7u (PR), Navegantes (SC), Londrina (PR), Joinville (SC), Bacacheri (PR), Pelotas (RS), Uruguaiana (RS), and Bag\u00e9 (RS). The Central block comprises airports in Goi\u00e2nia (GO), S\u00e3o Lu\u00eds (MA), Teresina (PI), Palmas (TO), Petrolina (PE), and Imperatriz (MA).
