S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 Qatar is in talks with Covid-19 vaccine manufacturers to ensure all travelers attending the 2022 FIFA World Cup will be immunized.<\/p>\n

\u201cRight now there are programmes under development to provide vaccination to all the attendees of the World Cup,\u201d foreign minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani said during a virtual conference.<\/p>\n

Qatar is spending hundreds of billions of dollars on infrastructure for the event due November of next year.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will be able, hopefully, to host a Covid-free event,\u201d said Al Thani.<\/p>\n

A second wave of Covid-19 has prompted a new lockdown in Qatar, despite an ongoing vaccination program. The country has given 1.2 million shots, enough to immunize 21.6% of its population, according to Bloomberg<\/em>\u2019s Covid-19 vaccine tracker.<\/p>\n
