Majid Al Futtaim is a group from the United Arab Emirates that owns and operates shopping malls and retail and leisure businesses in the Middle East and North Africa, including supermarkets under the Carrefour brand.<\/p>\n<p>The acting managing director of the West region Majid Al Futtaim Properties Shopping Malls, Rasha Azab, spoke about the drop in sales at a virtual round table with Egyptian journalists. Azab said the decline was at an acceptable percentage compared to figures recorded around the world.<\/p>\n<p>The executive informed that there are signs of recovery in sales earlier this year, despite the third wave of COVID-19 in Egypt. According to him, Majid Al Futtaim supported its stakeholders during the pandemic and continues to look for initiatives to support them while preparing the future of retail in the post-COVID world.<\/p>\n<p>The group launched an online sales platform for stores in its shopping malls, Click and Collect, where customers can place orders online and pick them up at selected locations.<\/p>\n<p>Majid Al Futtaim took several measures in its shopping malls to prevent the spread of COVID-19, such as the closing of its doors between March and April 2020. As a result, the collection of rent was replaced by a percentage of sales.
