S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 \u2018The Islamic World \u2013 Opportunities and challenges for Brazilian agribusiness in a post-pandemic scenario\u2019 will be the subject of a four-class free course in Brazilian Portuguese held by the Brazilian Confederation of Agriculture and Livestock (CNA) in partnership with the Federation of Muslim Associations of Brazil (FAMBRAS), from June 17 to July 8. Registration is open<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The purpose of the course is to discuss opportunities and challenges for Brazilian agribusiness in markets with a predominantly Islamic population, the halal market, food and beverage consumption trends, specific certifications, and attracting direct investments.<\/p>\n

The course program features leading names from the private, government, and academic sectors. All classes will be held on Thursdays, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am BRT.<\/p>\n

The opening and first class will occur on June 17 and focus on the Islamic world\u2019s cultural, behavioral, and business intelligence aspects. The former president at the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC), Rubens Hannun, and the vice president at FAMBRAS, Ali Zoghbi, will instruct this module. In addition, the president at the ABCC, Osmar Chohfi, will participate in the opening of the course.<\/p>\n

On June 24, the subject will be regarding trade relations in the Islamic world; the office head of Investe SP in Dubai, Silvia Pierson, the director of International Relations at CNA, Ligia Dutra, and the business analyst at the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency\u2019s (Apex-Brasil) Dubai office, Ant\u00f4nio Lopes, will speak.<\/p>\n

The module on July 1 will be about halal products and their concepts, reliability, and certification; it will be carried out by the vice president at Fambras, Ali Zoghbi, alongside the secretary-general at the ABCC, Tamer Mansour, and the technical director of the Brazilian Association of Animal Protein (ABPA), Sula Alves.<\/p>\n

The last class, on July 8, will be on Islamic finance, challenges, and opportunities for Brazilian agribusiness, with the CEO for Latin America at the First Abu Dhabi Bank, \u00c2ngela Martins, and the Executive Sharia Board member for Egypt\u2019s Audi Bank and Saudi Arabia\u2019s Audi Capital, Khaled R. El Fakih, and Brazilian senator Jean-Paul Prates (PT-RN), president of the Brazil-Arab Countries Parliamentary Group.<\/p>\n

This is the second edition of the online course in partnership with CNA. From 2013 to 2017, classes took place at Rio Branco Institute in Bras\u00edlia, Brazil\u2019s capital city. In 2018, they were held at the Federal District\u2019s headquarters of the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB-DF), and last year, came the first online version in partnership with the CNA. In total, this is the 8th edition of the course.<\/p>\n
