With the oil sector included, total GDP fell by 2.5% in the same comparison.<\/p>\n<p>The data were released this Tuesday (29) by the Oman News Agency (<a href=\"https:\/\/omannews.gov.om\/NewsDescription\/ArtMID\/392\/ArticleID\/34792\/Omans-GDP-Value-Improved-Shows-UN-Calculation-Method\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ONA<\/a>) and were calculated by the Sultanate\u2019s National Statistics and Information Centre.<\/p>\n<p>The services sector led the growth of non-oil activities, up by 6.6% compared to the first quarter of 2020. The highlight was the wholesale-retail trade, which grew 16%. Transport and storage also performed well, increasing GDP by 12.7%.<\/p>\n<p>Industrial activities registered a 5.7% increase. The agriculture and fishing sector\u2019s GDP decreased by 12%.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, oil activities dropped by 20.6% in the first three months of 2021. Within this sector, crude oil had a more significant loss, 22.4%.
