S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 The Arab League is participating in Expo 2020 Dubai with a pavilion. The organization\u2019s secretary-general, Ahmed Aboul Gheit (pictured above)<\/em>, visited it before the opening of the world\u2019s fair last week. The pavilion\u2019s sections were inspired by the rooms of the Arab League\u2019s historic headquarters in Cairo, the capital city of Egypt.<\/p>\n

According to the assistant secretary-general and commissioner-general for the Arab League\u2019s participation in Expo 2020 Dubai, Hossam Zaki, the pavilion has the motto \u201cA Thousand and One Keys\u201d and provides visitors an interactive and innovative experience, exploring Arab mutual actions to achieve the goals of economic integration, stability, and development.<\/p>\n

In the pavilion, there are ten \u201ckey\u201d windows showing the visitor; in a simplified way, the Arab cooperation achieved under the aegis of the Arab League in several fields and allowing interactions, exposing views and proposals for the development of joint Arab efforts.<\/p>\n

The fa\u00e7ade of the space features sets of Arab faces from different societies and origins, reflecting the region\u2019s demographic diversity. During his visit to the venue, Gheit expressed admiration for the initiative and said the idea added a necessary human dimension and cheerful color, giving distinctiveness to the Arab League pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai.<\/p>\n

Gheit greatly appreciated the simplicity and appropriateness of the ideas used in the pavilion to present the Arab League, its history, present, and perspectives to the public. He thanked the support of Kuwait and the Expo board and praised the secretary-general of the Arab League for the efforts that culminated in the innovative and modern pavilion.<\/p>\n

Ahmed Aboul Gheit was also in the United Arab Emirates to participate in SEAMLESS Middle East 2021 \u2013 the Summit and Exhibition on Digital Economy Technologies \u2013 which took place on September 29, before the opening of Expo 2020 Dubai. In addition to having a pavilion at the world\u2019s fair, the Arab League is also organizing a series of events and activities within the Expo 2020 schedule, which will run for six months until March 31, 2022.<\/p>\n
