It was the sixth consecutive decline in the indicator, which accumulated losses of 4% in the last six months assessed. Data from the Monthly Industrial Survey were released today (6) by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (<strong>IBGE<\/strong>).<\/p>\n<p>In comparison with November 2020, the drop was 4.4%. Nevertheless, in the accumulated result for the year and the 12-month period, the <strong>industry<\/strong> sector grew 4.7% and 5%, respectively.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>To<\/em> <em>learn more about business, check the <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/anba.com.br\/category\/noticias\/economia\/\">Economy<\/a><em> section<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>From October to November, 12 of the 26 industrial activities had a downturn in production. The most relevant losses were in the segments of <strong>rubber<\/strong> and <strong>plastics<\/strong> (-4.8%), metallurgy (-3%), <strong>metal<\/strong> products (-2.7%), beverages (-2.2%), and petroleum products, coke, and biofuels (-0.6%).<\/p>\n<p>Thirteen industry branches expanded. The highlights were food products (6.8%), mining and quarrying (5%), and motor vehicles, trailers, and bodies (2.9%).<\/p>\n<p>Among the four large economic categories in the industry, capital goods (machinery and equipment used in the productive sector) was the only one with a decrease (-3%). On the other hand, Durable consumer goods registered the only gain in the month (0.5%).
