In 2021, 6,900 tonnes were shipped to the Arab country, a volume 105% higher than in the previous year. Data were released by the Brazilian Association of Animal Protein (ABPA) this Monday (10).<\/p>\n<p>Next came Japan, with 1,100 tonnes, up 270%, and <strong>Oman<\/strong>, with 408 tonnes, up 183%. Other leading destinations in 2021 were <strong>Qatar<\/strong>, Uruguay, and <strong>Saudi Arabia<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>General exports<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Sales of Brazilian eggs to the international market (considering all products, fresh and processed) totaled 11,300 tonnes in 2021. The number surpassed total exports in 2020 by 81.5%. There was an 80% expansion in revenue, with USD 18 million over the 12 months of 2021.<\/p>\n<p><strong>December<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In December, egg exports totaled 2,490 tonnes, 72.8% more than in the last month of 2020. Revenue was 102.6% higher in the same comparison, totaling USD 3.99 million.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDecember had the highest volumes exported in 2021. Production costs have significantly squeezed the sector\u2019s margins, with the prices for the two main inputs \u2013 corn and soybean meal \u2013 increasing, in some cases, by more than 100% from one year to the next.
