The fuel price increase took effect starting Friday (4) and will last till March.<\/p>\n<p>The price of octane-80 fuel is now EGP 7.25 (USD 0.46) per liter, 92-octane fuel is EGP 8.5 (USD 0.53) per liter, and 95-octane fuel is EGP 9.5 (USD 0.60) per liter. Diesel was fixed at LE6.75 per liter. An octane rating refers to the quality of the fuel. The higher the octane number, better the quality and higher the price.<\/p>\n<p>The Automatic Pricing Committee for Petroleum Products of Egypt monitors and adjusts petroleum product prices in Egypt on a quarterly basis.
