Aimed at the institution\u2019s members, the event aims to bring companies closer to the carbon credit market and show them how they could enter the universe of sustainable business.<\/p>\n<p>The global carbon market consists of trading <strong>carbon credits<\/strong>. Decarbonization projects, ranging from afforestation to clean energy production, can have their credits sold by those who need to offset emissions. A nation that has reduced its emission of greenhouse effect gases beyond its goals can, with this tool, sell its surplus.<\/p>\n<p>At the 26th United Nations Conference on Climate Change (<strong>COP26<\/strong>) last year, the Brazilian government announced a goal of reducing the country\u2019s carbon emissions by 50% by 2050. At the occasion, Minister Joaquim Leite presented a series of initiatives aimed at the strategy, such as zeroing out illegal deforestation by 2028, with systematic reduction, restoration, and afforestation of 18 million hectares of forests, among others.<\/p>\n<p>The event will feature translation into English and Portuguese, and it\u2019ll be streamed online for the ABCC members.
