Pontes also announced that developing a third-generation mRNA vaccine against COVID-19 is already underway in Brazil.<\/p>\n<p>Pontes was speaking about the operational capacity of the National Center for Vaccine Technology, located in the city of Campinas, S\u00e3o Paulo. According to the minister, the vaccine and drug development center aligns with the \u201cmost rigid norms and world standards\u201d. It will be a crucial factor in the independence of human <strong>vaccine production<\/strong> in Brazil.<\/p>\n<p>Pontes explained that there have never been vaccines developed entirely by Brazilian scientists. This scenario should change with the <strong>investments in laboratories<\/strong> and research that are beginning to show results. \u201cOur scientists are finally able to produce, here in Brazil, our own vaccines,\u201d he explained.
