Bras\u00edlia \u2013 The Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce<\/strong> (ABCC) opened on Tuesday (19) its office in Bras\u00edlia<\/strong>, the capital city of Brazil. The opening was attended by authorities, diplomats and businesspeople in an events venue at Complexo Brasil 21, where the office is located. Pictured above, ABCC president Osmar Chohfi.<\/em><\/p>\n

Mourad, Chohfi and Mansour: Arab Brazilian Chamber<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

This is the third office of the ABCC in Brazil and fifth in the world. In addition to its headquarters in S\u00e3o Paulo, the ABCC has an office in Itaja\u00ed, Santa Catarina, Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and Cairo, Egypt. \u201cHaving a branch in the capital city is an old wish of our Chamber,\u201d Chohfi said during the launch event.<\/p>\n

Addressing the guests, Chohfi pointed out that the opening comes in a special moment when the ABCC celebrates 70 years and Brazil its 200 years of independence. According to Chohfi, the legacy of accomplishments of the ABCC over the years gives a solid foundation for the geographic expansion, as well as the intense technological modernization process.<\/p>\n

Opening event brought together guests<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Chohfi said another office of the institution will be created later this year in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. \u201cWe\u2019re strengthening our presence in markets that are relevant for Brazilian trade and bilateral interchange,\u201d he said, mentioning the USD 24 billion trade between Brazil and the Arab countries in 2021 and the desire to take it to new levels of added value, technology and services.<\/p>\n

The ABCC\u2019s president also discussed his expectations for the new base in the capital city. \u201cI\u2019m sure that the ABCC office in Bras\u00edlia will be another link for building closer, more solid economic and trade ties between the business communities from Brazil and the Arab world,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Ministers and diplomats in the opening<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

In an interview with ANBA, ABCC secretary-general & CEO Tamer Mansour explained that the office in Bras\u00edlia would work in three fronts. According to Mansour, one will be the work with Arab embassies<\/strong> for streamlining export documentation processes and get closer to them, understanding their difficulties and helping to solve them.<\/p>\n

The second front will be the rapprochement with government agencies and industry entities<\/strong> based in Bras\u00edlia. The third will be the relationship with companies based in the Center-West and North<\/strong> of Brazil so that they can do business with the Arab world. Bras\u00edlia is also expected to become a place for seminars, lectures and B2Bs held by the ABCC.<\/p>\n

Office is located in the Complexo Brasil 21<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Brazil\u2019s ministers of Science, Technology and Innovation, Paulo Alvim, and Environment, Joaquim Leite, participated in the office\u2019s opening event, as well as representatives from other ministries and government agencies. ABCC International Relations vice president Mohamad Orra Mourad was also present, as well as New Business director Daniella Leite and the head of the office in Dubai, Rafael Solimeo.<\/p>\n

The ABCC office in Bras\u00edlia is located in Complexo Brasil 21 \u2013 Edif\u00edcio Business Center Tower, Bloco C \u2013 Setor Hoteleiro Sul (SH\/Sul), Quadra 06, Lote 01, Conjunto A, rooms 1802 and 1803, Asa Sul.<\/p>\n
