In February 2021, the deficit was USD 4 billion in current accounts, which is the sum of the balance of trade, net income from abroad, and net current transfers.<\/p>\n<p>The 12-month current-account deficit reached USD 26.1 billion in February, equal to 1.59% of gross domestic product (GD), versus 1.71% of GDP (USD 27.7 billion) reported for the previous month and 1.49% (USD 21 billion) reported from February 2021.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>trade balance <\/strong>posted a surplus of USD 3.5 billion in February 2022, from a USD 357 million deficit in February 2021. Exports amounted to USD 23.7 billion and imports grossed USD 20.2 billion, up 43.6% and 19.8% from a year earlier.<\/p>\n<p>Net expenditure posted in the international travel account stood at USD 445 million, from USD 28 million in February 2021.
